Cardrona Bra Fence - Central Otago - New Zealand

The Cardrona Bra Fence where it has been the fashion now for twenty years to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness.

A controversial tourist attraction in the Cardrona Valley in New Zealand where passers-by may if they wish leave a bra.

Despite its popularity there is a disagreement over the value of the attraction.

In my personal opinion if this makes people more aware then it has great value. Certainly worth stopping to take a look and a few photos whilst popping a donation in the box.

  1. I am one of the ones that when I see these type things I think what a waste, donate them to the poor. there is no one alive who is not aware that cancer is out there waiting for us. I think the same thing when I see masses of flowers and toys and things like that...

  3. Huh! I’m not sure about this... a store I frequent in Eugene Oregon that sells crafts made by third world people (mostly women) collects gently used bras to donate.
