The National Lobster Hatchery is a charitable organization located in Padstow, England which was was opened in August 2000 and is situated on South Quay in Padstow, Cornwall. The organisation is a marine Conservation, research and education charity that focuses its efforts on the European lobster. It exists to serve the coastal fishing communities of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The hatchery consists of a visitor centre, shop and conference facility, as well as various culture spaces, laboratories and technical facilities.
When I was on a recent trip to Cornwall I took the opportunity to visit The National Lobster Hatchery ethically I think this is a brilliant idea and deserves to be supported. Hence the reason I am sharing some photos and links with you on the blog which I hope you will find interesting.

Any one, organisation or charity that helps in the preservation of wild life of any sort is good in my book. There is too much unnecessary killing and poaching going on these days all over the world. There will soon be many animals and fishes that are extinct if we do not look after them. Adopting a lobster sounds like it could be fun. Diane
ReplyDeletemy first ever view of a lobster nursery, i see the babies are almost see through clear.. that is one very large lobster... someone has to do something for our oceans because we have fished them all out
