Entrance to the World Heritage Site of Pafos Archaeological Park |
I visited Pafos in February and have chosen to share a few photos of the Mosaics for the letter M for ABC Wednesday today taken during my visit to Pafos Archaeological Park
The Kato Pafos archaeological site became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980 and the aim was to protect and maintain these wonderful remains which are from prehistoric times to the middle ages, although most are dating from the Roman period. The mosaics are from the floors of four Roman villas. They are very impressive, my photos do not do them justice but hopefully you will find them interesting.
If you enjoyed my post about the Mosaics today maybe you will consider following Travel Tales as I will return to the Pafos Archaeological Park in a future post.
I am sharing this post with ABC Wednesday
I have often taken part in this meme over the last few years.
This is the first time I have posted this meme on Travel Tales, a new home for all photos that I would have previously shared on LindyLouMac's World in Photos

Magnificent mosaics that you've shared here today. There are also some wonderful ones in Agrigento, Sicily, that I saw back in 2006.

Mosaics are fascinating and beautiful, I enjoyed all of your photos which brought back memories as I have been there but so long ago that it was in the pre-digital age.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and interesting mosaics. It is wonderful that they still remain good and visible to visitors. I am now following you on your Travel Tales. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool, I visted that place on my Honeymoon over thirty years ago. Nice to see it is still being cared for. Must dig out the photos I took.

I was interested to see this post as we are going to Paphos in June. We have been before and may have seen the mosaics, but they certainly look like they are worth a second look.
ReplyDeleteThose mosaics are spectacular! I've never seen such well-preserved ones.
ReplyDeleteI would like this place! Thanks for sharing your visit.
