Those of you that have been following my blogs for the last few years will know that I have a fascination with markets, seeing them as full of great photographic opportunities. Bansko provided me with another excuse to add to my collection, portraying Markets around the world.
Hope you enjoyed your virtual market visit. Which are your favourite scenes? I have one more post to share with you about the church in Bansko, which will follow soon.
The links below will take you directly to the pages on Bansko if you are interested in learning more about the town and the ski-slopes.

Good Evening LindyLou, I love visiting markets and this one is no exception, I would love to take a trip as there are so many interesting things. I love brightly coloured rugs, so it would be hard to choose a rug out of the many wonderful one's on display.
ReplyDeleteIt was interesting to see the flat irons. When I was a child, my Gramps used to do all the ironing using one of these flat irons. He used to put the iron on the coals, let it heat up, take it off the coals and clean the base, then start the ironing. He would iron all the cotton items first, and then as the iron cooled he would iron the lighter fabrics. I remember ironing one of his hankies..... only the once mind, as I burnt a hole in it. I am so pleased I have my electric steam iron.
Best wishes
Daphne
Hi Linda, I have a fascination with markets too , and this one seems to sell interesting items . I like stalls that sell their own wares , this all looks interesting . xx
ReplyDeletei did enjoy my virtual tour and i would love a real tour. i am not a shopper but this would be fantastic, the colors alone are marvelous and there is something for any and all... even hubby would love this one. thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteGood morning LindyLou. Like you, I enjoy wandering through local markets when we travel. This one was a treat! If I could have been there I'd have brought home a bell, a blanket and a flat iron to add to my collection.
ReplyDeleteА wonderful market and a great report!
ReplyDeleteThank you, LindyLou.
.
What a beautiful market. I'd love to visit there just wandering around... it would be hard to choose what to buy (but Id start with the food for sure.)
ReplyDeleteLoved taking a look at what a market in other corners of the world might yield.
ReplyDeleteSurprising to see yards of material and knifes all laid out. :)
Lovely series of images!
I have some flat irons. I don't iron now and would have hated having to use those.
I love all of those cow bells, and wish we had them on our cows here - there is nothing better than wandering through a valley on a still warm morning and hearing them ringing in the distance.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of road side market. Very colorful.
ReplyDeleteI like the food, the garlic, and the cow bells too. The carpets are really bright, I'm wondering how they differ from Native American woven blankets. What a cool market to visit.
ReplyDeleteThe blankets reminded me of Native American ones as well. I am not sure if you follow my Photography blog Hannah but I hope to share on Friday Faces a Bulgarian wearing one of the blankets. Traditionally I am told they were worn by the shepherds.
DeleteThis is wonderful Lindy! This is such a unique bazaar! Thanks for sharing.

Gorgeous photos Linda. I especially liked the ones of the fabrics and the magnificent trees in the background. We don't have markets OR trees like that in Kansas.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I like their clothes-they are so colorful!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog thanks to Anne's post about the postcard:)
Welcome Ola, hope you find lots to interest you and that you will call by again. :)
DeleteDear Lindy, thanks for following, I am going to be here also more often:)
DeleteI loved all your pics. Especially the cow bells, did you purchase one?
ReplyDeleteNo I didn't Lucia, if my husband had still been alive I think we might have done, as he would have been able to make a door bell out of it for us I expect. :)
DeleteThe colors of the fabric are scrumptuous. And I drooled when I saw the clay pots - we love to cook in them, but they don't last forever. Looks like a fabulous visit.
ReplyDeletealways fun to visit places like that. :)
ReplyDeleteI particularly love the blankets so colourful.
ReplyDeleteI am very glad that you visited my country.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos!
Thank you for taking us with you to the open air market. Wow, there's everything! What I miss here in the USA open air markets, are the booths with fabric (always cheaper than in the store:) )
ReplyDeletei had to come back to find out what the man on today's post was selling. i missed him in the car on this...i just scrolled through all these oh so very colorful photos again and enjoyed it again
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the hanging blankets on the top shot, for a second I thought it was Guatemala... :-)
ReplyDeleteLoved the whole market, almost missed the man from the other blog. But I enjoyed looking again.
