World at Work 5 - Dried Seafood Market - Western District - Hong Kong

A few minutes tram ride  from Central Hong Kong, in the Western District the dried seafood traders are to be found. In my photos are all sorts of dried sea foods, some recognisable, others I have no idea what they might be!

These photos were taken during a visit to see my daughter who lives in Hong Kong.

Please note this post originally appeared on LindyLouMac's World in Photos but I am in the process of moving the themed posts to Travel Tales as I plan to change direction on the photography blog.

  2. Looks very interesting but you have to know what you are buying. Or maybe westerners don't buy. Thanks for sharing.

  4. I remember viewing some of your Hong Kong photos before I travelled there in 2012 and was filled with anticipation and excitement. I can now enjoy them from a different perspective as they bring back such joyful memories.

  5. This was a place we missed when we were there, pity. Glad you have reposted it as I am sure I missed it first time round or my memory has gone. Take care Diane

  7. I would never have dreamed that something like this existed! But maybe not the ice and refrigeration we take for granted? (I love to shop at fresh fish markets, on both our coasts, just never thought about the need for so much dried fish). As always, love how well you capture people! Wish I could do half as well.
