Faces On Friday - The Fat Policeman - Budapest - Hungary

On a recent visit to Budapest, I had ample opportunity to take lots of photos that I will be sharing on Travel Tales in the coming weeks.

As Budapest has many street sculptures I thought I would start by sharing one for Faces On Friday this week.  This bronze statue of a police officer from over a hundred years ago, stands on the corner of Zrinyi Utca and October 6th Utca, as if he was directing traffic. Superstition says that you should rub his belly for good luck and his hat for luck in love, of course I did both!

  1. Wow... good luck coming your way. I'd feel pretty lucky just to see this interesting sculpture in the interesting place where he stands!

  2. I am sure everyone will enjoy rubbing his belly and hat because it is not something usual to do to a policeman on duty. Ha ha! So good luck coming your way!
